Black Saturday: Coach Akonnor and Ghanaians react to tragic youth team crash
After the fatal accident on Saturday, many people expressed their sadness to social media
Ghana mourned the deaths of six players when a bus carrying a youth team from a league registration practice plunged into the river on Saturday night.
The African Vision Football Academy returned to Offenso from Afranco, where they accepted registration for the upcoming regional junior league.According to reports, the six players were between the ages of 12 and 16 and died on the spot. Several others were injured and were taken to Offenso St. Patrick’s Hospital and Como Anokie Teaching Hospital (KATH).
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed this unfortunate incident in a statement on Saturday night.
Many people, including Black Star coach CK Akonnor, former Dortmund team and former Ghanaian as well as Cameroonian assistant coach Ibrahim Tenko, Eteweiler national defender and current Café Deputy Secretary-General Anthony Baffoe, All shared their sadness on social media.
