UEFA bans Cameroon and Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana for one year over doping violation

The disciplinary body of UEFA has imposed a suspension of 12 months on Cameroon international and Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper Andre Onana for a doping violation.

The UEFA doping control officers conducted an “out of competition” check on 30 October 2020 where the goalkeeper found the substance Furosemide in his urine.

The suspension takes place effective immediately and applies to all football activities, both national and international.

Onana has been one of the best goalkeepers in Europe and in Africa with his outstanding performances for Cameroon and Ajax.

The 24-year-old has been linked with moves to the Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Bundesliga amongst others.

Ajax has confirmed the news.

The disciplinary body of the European football association, UEFA, has imposed a suspension of 12 months on Andre Onana for a doping violation.
