Trump vows response on any ‘plot to kill diplomat in SA’

The US President Donald Trump has promised a reaction that will be “multiple times more noteworthy in extent,” to any assault Iran.

This is after reports that Iran was plotting to execute the US diplomat to South Africa, Lana Marks.

“Any assault Iran, in any structure, against the United States will be met with an assault on Iran that will be multiple times more noteworthy in extent!” Mr Trump tweeted on Monday.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry representative Saeed Khatibzadeh has excused the report on the arranged death that was first announced Politico.

It detailed that Iran was wanting to kill the US envoy, a long-term companion of President Trump, in counter for the death of General Qasem Soleimani in January.

Gen Soleimani was murdered in a US drone strike on an air terminal in Baghdad in January.
