Mr. Asiedu Nketia also stated that his appointment Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin is legal and does not violate any of Parliament’s rules. He said this morning on NEAT 100.9fm, a prominent Accra-based radio station.
Alban S.K. Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, has named Asiedu Nketia, the NDC’s General Secretary, to the Parliamentary Service Board (PSB).
The six-member Board includes Suame MP Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Tamale South MP Haruna Iddrisu, former Majority leader Abraham Osei Adu, former MP for Wenchi West, Clerk to Parliament Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and the Speaker, who also serves as chairman.
Some members of the House, such as Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, seemed to be against the Speaker’s decision, although others applauded him.
