Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, the majority leader in Parliament, has confirmed that it would be unwise for the New Patriotic Party, which has been branded a “Akan” party, to offer another “Akan” after Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-tenure. Addo’s.

Having another ‘Akan’ as the party’s flagbearer, he believes, would lend credence to and validate the claim that the NPP is a ‘Akan party that has little regard for other ethnic groups in the world.

“Well, I said these are early days, in the future when I have to stick out my neck, I will stick out my neck,” the Majority leader said when asked if he would support the Vice President of Ghana if he runs for the party’s flagbearership despite the fact that he is not a ‘Akan.’
