I Miss The Blackstars

Black Stars defender, Alexander Djiku is unhappy after missing Ghana’s 2021 AFCON qualifying game against South Africa in Johannesburg on Thursday March 25.

The Strasbourg anchorman is out of coach CK Akonnor’s squad due to injury.

Djiku could not have made the final squad regardless of being fit due to French Ligue 1 and 2 clubs voting against the release of African players for international assignments.

Due to strict COVID-19 rules in France, players outside the European Union will not be available for their national teams.

Last weekend’s Ligue 1 match against Lens at home was missed the 26-year-old.

He regrets not being able to play in the AFCON qualifiers with the Black Stars.

At the FNB Stadium, Ghana’s Black Stars face South Africa in the penultimate 2021 AFCON qualifier.

Ghana is now tied for 9th place with South Africa and Sudan, who defeated So Tomé 2-0 in So Tomé on March 24.

With group C now wide open, the Black Stars must at least draw in South Africa and beat So Tomé in the final game on March 28 at the Accra Sports Stadium to take all three points.

In January 2022, two qualified countries from Group C will compete in the AFCON in Cameroon.
