Ghana’s Majeed Ashimeru on cloud nine after hitting debut strike for Anderlecht in Belgian Cup

Nigerian midfielder Paul Mukairu gave Vincent Kompany’s side the lead in the 29th minute.

Ashimeru was introduced after 62 minutes when he replaced Jacob Bruun Larsen in their round of 32 clashes at RFC Liege.

The enterprising midfielder found himself on the scoresheet in the 67th minute to double Anderlecht’s advantage.

The 23-year-old took to social media to express his delight with his debut display.

“Excited to have made my debut for this wonderful club. Good team effort and glad to have gotten on the scoresheet💯. Let’s push for more 🙏🏾💪🏾 RSC Anderlecht 💜💜

Ashimeru has had his debut delayed since completing his second half of the season switch from Red Bull Salzburg.

He is expected to feature when the Purple and White lads engage KRC Genk in the Jupiler League on Sunday.
