Former President Mahama has lashed out angrily at economic experts in the country describing them as hypocrites who turned the ordinary Ghanaian against him during his tenure as President.
According to the 2020 NDC flagbearer, the benefit of hindsight has afforded Ghanaians the opportunity to see through the real intention of the experts who asked them to forget about statistics and rather feel their pockets but are today brandishing the same statistics with the NPP in government.
Taking to his social media pages, Mr. Mahama said Ghanaians were going through unprecedented levels of hardship under the Akufo-Addo-led government and added that the current living condition of the ordinary Ghanaian is worse off than before
But that claim has been challenged some government appointees who argue the former President is the one fueling that perception of hardship.
“Our people are galled the hypocrisy of so-called economic experts, asking them in 2016 to forget about economic statistics and look at the escalation of prices of cement and other products on the market, and then today hearing the same experts in government hold-up statistics, inflation etc., and say that life is better for them. And that the perception of hardship in Ghana is a creation of Mahama,” he wrote on Facebook.
