Ghana striker Caleb Ekuban ruled out for two weeks after suffering injury

The striker had to be replaced Edgar Le in the 78th minute after appearing to be in discomfort following a clash with a Besiktas defender.

The Celtic target has underwent scan on Wednesday, and it was revealed he will sit out for the next two weeks.

“In our football player, bleeding was detected in the outer rotator muscle of the thigh and treatment was started,” stated club doctor Hakan Çelik.

Ekuban will miss the games against Denilzspor, Malatyaspor and Gazientep.

His absence will be a huge blow to manager Eddie Newton, who will be looking to bounce back from the opening day defeat.

The 25-year-old forward has been linked with Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers, with Italian side Lazio also interested in signing him in the summer transfer window.
