GFA Exco donate monthly allowance to Offinso accident victims

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has decided to donate their September 2020 monthly allowance to the victims of the Offinso accident.

All members of the Council collectively decided to support the victims on Monday, September 21, 2020.

Prior to this, there was a traffic accident on Saturday in which about 34 young football players from the African Academy of Sight Football were killed. Among them, 7 football players were killed after riding a minibus into the Ofinso River.

Regrettably, six young football players died on the spot on Sunday, while a football player in a critical condition died at the Komo Anoky Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

Ten victims were treated at St. Patrick’s Hospital and have been discharged.

On Sunday, September 20, 2020, GFA dispatched a delegation led Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong and Ashanti Regional Football Association President Osei Tutu Agyemang to Offinso to express condolences to the families of the victims and visit the injured players.
