Black Stars players were poor against Mali – Frimpong Manso

Former Asante Kotoko and coach Frimpong Manso attributed Ghana’s failure to Mali because of the poor performance of the players.

In the first game where CK Akonnor was in charge of the team, the Black Stars lost to Mali 3-0.

Hamari Toure, El Bilal Toure and Amadou Haidara scored goals for the Malians, recording their huge against the Black Star Victory to avenge the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Frimpong Manso defended CK Akonnor’s decision to leave some experienced players on the team because his recent recruitment was welcomed many newcomers.

“This is a form that players are accustomed to in various clubs, so this is nothing new for them. Some players are fading away, so we need to recruit new boys to adapt.”

He attributed the failure of the lateral defender to the failure of the team, which he described as a recurring problem in the team.

“Our horizontal defenders didn’t impress me at all. The problem with horizontal defenders we once complained about still exists.”

Frimpong Manso has called on the public to support Ghanaian coach Akonnor in the subsequent games.

“It’s too early to say that coach CK Aquino is incapable of handling the national team. This is just a game he participated in. Let him be patient and support him.”

Ghana will face Qatar in the next friendly on Monday
