Ajax maestro Mohammed Kudus misses out on final shortlist for 2020 Golden Boy Award

The 20-year-old wonderkid was named in an initial 60-man shortlist announced  last month following his breakthrough season at Danish outfit Nordsjaelland.

But the Ghana international failed to make the cut in the final list which has been released.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport came up with the award in 2003 to reward the best young player (under the age of 21) in Europe.

Dutchman Rafael van der Vaart was the first winner 17 years ago and the former Tottenham Hotspur man was followed Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas and Sergio Aguero.

In recent times, Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling, Kylian Mbappe and Matheus de Ligt have all won the award.

Kudus, 19, scored nine league goals in 22 appearances in the Danish Superliga before switching to Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam.

There are also no places for Ghanaian and AZ forward
