Agenda 111 Is NDC Nightmare – Mame Yaa Aboagye

The Deputy Communications Director, Mame Yaa Aboagye says President Akufo-Addo’s Agenda 111 is the nightmare of the opposition NDC.

According to her, the Agenda 111 project has frightened the NDC that they have decided to speak against it just as they did to all government projects.

“Agenda 111 is NDC’s recent nightmare…The very thought of it brings some chilled shivering into their bones. In their secret prayers, they wish it will collapse; that funds will not be given to support the project but what God cannot do does not exist.”

“We are not perturbed at their negativity because whatever they will do, we will still go ahead and construct the Agenda 111 project.”

Mame Yaa Aboagye is optimistic that “agenda 111 will bring the job to the youth and Ghanaians in the health sector”.

“If you are a doctor, you will get a job. If you are a nurse, you will get a job. If you are a lab technician, you will get a job. Even as a driver and cleaner, you will all get a job”, she said.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, August 17 commissioned the agenda 111 projects which will ensure the construction of 111 hospitals across the country.

During the commission of the project in the Ashanti Region, the President said the project will provide 20,000 jobs for health professionals.

He said the Ministry of Health will recruit more doctors, nurses, and pharmacists when the project is done.

He also said that more indirect jobs are also going to be created through the project implementation.

The President further indicated that the Covid-19 pandemic has exposed years of under-investment in Ghana’s health sector.

To that end, he said his administration is improving on the investment in the health sector of the economy.

He said; “I am glad that the biggest ever investment in the nation’s healthcare is being made. We have met this morning because of the ravages of Covid-19 which have affected every country on the planet. For us in Ghana, not only has the pandemic disrupted our daily lives but it has also exposed the deficiencies with our healthcare system because of the years of under-investment and neglect.”
