During Milovan Rajevac’s first stint at the Black Stars, Ghanaians were treated to result-oriented football with a healthy mix of veterans and youth.
The likes of Andre Ayew, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Jonathan Mensah, Kwadwo Asamoah and others were given the chance to develop under the Serbian’s tutelage despite the obvious presence of established veterans like Stephen Appiah.
With Andre Ayew now a veteran, Milo will have to select the next generation of stars to build his team on as the pressure intensifies.
Here are three young players he can place his trust in.
From Techiman to France, Kamaldeen has shown class and mesmerizing footballing ability in his young career.
The 19-year-old, who went through the exceptional training process at Right to Dream Academy, has established himself as one of the biggest talents in world football.
He had his big breakthrough at Danish side Nordsjaelland, impressing some of the biggest clubs in Europe including Ajax. But, Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennais were quickest to the punch, securing the winger’s services during the 2021 summer transfer window for a reported €15 million fee.
Kamaldeen has already found the net on four occasions for his current team, with exceptional performances to add.
Although he has not made an immediate impact on the national stage, Milo can count on Kamaldeen for years to come.
Mohammed Kudus’ story so far has been a fairy tale. Trained the Right to Dream Academy, the 21-year-old established himself as a key performer for Danish outfit Nordsjaelland before earning a big move to Ajax in 2020.
Kudus quickly adjusted to life in Netherlands, showing real quality in multiple positions under Ten Hag’s guidance. Despite some struggles to stay fit, Kudus has proved to be a huge prospect.
In the Black Stars, he is warming his way into stardom. Kudus scored on his debut for the national team against South Africa and netted once again in the return leg.
Against Sao Tome and Principe in Ghana, Kudus set up two of the nation’s three goals, highlighting his creative prowess.
With Partey already established at the heart of midfield, Milo can confidently call on Kudus to do some damage further up the pitch.
