2020 Elections: Go out and vote – Edem tells youth

Ghanaian hip-life artist Ayigbe Edem encourages young Ghanaians to participate in large numbers in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in December.

The boss of the Volta Regime Music Group (VRMG) explained that voting is an important task and must be conducted in an “informed place”, adding that through voting, young people can participate in decision-making.

Speaking to Prince Benjamin on Class91.3 FM’s Class Drive on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, Edem said: “I encourage everyone to vote because if you don’t vote, you will be ruled fools. Therefore, you must vote so that you know you are part of the decision-making process. So please go out and make sure you vote.”

“Vote from where you know. Don’t vote from social media trends. There is no other vote except where you know.” He pointed out.

He also urged youth to consider the declarations of various political parties before voting.

The producer of the “Nyedzilo” hit song stated that this will enable them to better understand and inform their choices, thus ensuring accountability.

“This year, all young people try to read the manifesto. Don’t read the excerpt on Twitter. Read the manifesto from both sides so you can make anyone responsible for what they say will do for us.” He said.

Edem was born in Denning Edem Hotor and is currently promoting his six single “Mood Swings” EP.

His current works include “Kpo”, “In Ghana” (Efya), “Money”, “Chidi”, “Love You” and “Efo Kodjo”.
